Exhibition designed and produced by Harald Szeemann with the participation of Pierre Versins, writer and collector of science-fiction works.
The exhibition was a kind of visual and sound show presenting without any gender hierarchy around 4,000 pieces : toys, robots, comic book covers from various countries, books and illustrations from various centuries, stamps, musical scores, advertising posters, fashion creations, excerpts from films, architectural projects, cartoons…and works of the artists : Agam, Edmund Alleyn, Antonio Dias, Erro, Piero Gilardi, Klaus Geissler, Paul van Hoeydonck, Tetsumi Kudo, Piotr Kowalski, Roy Lichtenstein, Liliane Lijn, Robert Malaval, Hans Walter Müller, Bernard Rancillac, Markus Rätz, Martial Raysse, Dorothée Selz, Tajiri, Takis…
Note : Dorothée Selz, invited by Szeemann in October 1967 does not appear in the catalog, already printed, but her two works are exhibited in Paris at the Musée des Art Décoratifs and at the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf.
